US Embassy Public Diplomacy Collaborative Memorial Mural at Amal Tayibe High School: dedicated to recently murdered principal, Yussuf Haj Yihieh, Tayibe, Israel

The emphasis was to paint a mural with a theme of Non- violence, in arguably the most violent town in Israel; in commemoration of principle killed in violent shooting. Due to this stated intention, the students engagement in commemorating their deceased Principle , was hugely dedicated and passionate. The concept was to have two eyes filled with faces and hands looking towards the  future being pulled up by doves with light lines attaching to hands and people. The result was extremely well received, the new principle was so  impressed he said he ‘had to paint’, and participate himself. Multiple Teachers commented to the embassy team that after its completion “This experience and Mural far exceeded my expectations.”
